Johnson’s One Dose Wormer for Puppies & Small Dogs 100 mg film-coated tablets is a single-dose oral treatment for roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms in puppies and small adult dogs weighing 2.1–8 kg and aged over 12 weeks. Each pack contains 4 tablets of nitroscanate 100 mg and is intended for straightforward, once-only administration.
- Treats roundworms (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum) and tapeworms (Taenia hydatigena, Taenia pisiformis, Dipylidium caninum) in one dose.
- Suitable for small-breed puppies from 12 weeks and adult dogs up to 8 kg.
- Simple weight-based dosing with film-coated tablets that must be given whole.
- Can be used for routine adult worming every 3–6 months (or 2–4 times a year) and at 12, 16 and 24 weeks for puppies.
- Nursing bitches may be treated at 2, 4, 6, 8 and 12 weeks after whelping.
- AVM-GSL authorised veterinary medicine (Vm 08749/3073 / equivalent).
Composition
Each tablet contains: nitroscanate 100 mg.
Excipients include: titanium dioxide (E171), iron oxide yellow (E172), iron oxide black (E172), iron oxide red (E172), maize starch, sodium starch glycolate (Type A), microcrystalline cellulose, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate, HPMC 2910, polydextrose FCC, macrogol 4000.
Dosage and administration
Dose: 1 × 100 mg tablet per 2 kg bodyweight (50 mg nitroscanate/kg).

Give the required number of tablets first thing in the morning after overnight fasting, with approximately one-fifth of the daily food ration. Tablets must be given whole and must not be broken or divided. Withhold the remaining food ration for at least 8 hours afterwards to reduce the risk of vomiting. For dogs over 8 kg use the 500 mg strength product.
Storage and safety
Store in a dry place. Do not store above 25 °C. Keep the blister strip in the outer carton. Shelf life as packaged: 5 years.
Do not use in dogs weighing less than 2 kg or in puppies under 12 weeks of age. Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to nitroscanate or any excipient. Do not administer to sick or recovering animals. Do not repeat the dose if vomiting occurs shortly after treatment. This product can be an irritant to skin and eyes; avoid breaking tablets. Can be used during pregnancy and lactation. Dispose of unused product or waste in accordance with local requirements.
Always read the package leaflet and follow the dosage chart carefully. Weigh the animal accurately before dosing. If symptoms persist, consult a veterinary surgeon. Flea control is important to help reduce Dipylidium caninum reinfection.
