Johnson's Tick Remover

Johnson's Tick Remover is a reusable plastic tool with a hooked twister at each end. Choose the hook that matches the size of the tick. Slide the hook under the tick from the side and twist two or three times until it comes away. The aim is to remove the tick whole so mouthparts are not left in the skin.

How to use

• Part the coat so you can see the tick
• Choose the hook that fits the tick
• Slide the hook under the tick from the side
• Lift lightly and twist 2–3 times until it detaches
• Do not pull the tick off
• Dispose of the tick safely
• Wipe the skin with an antiseptic if advised
• Wash the remover after use
• Seek veterinary advice if the mouthparts stay in, the area looks infected, or your pet is unwell
